5th Annual Every Child Matters 5K Run/Walk

STUDIO CITY, Calif. - Feb. 27, 2015 - PRLog -- Children of the Caribbean Foundation is pleased to announce the Foundation’s 5th Annual 5K Run/Walk and Kids’ Run, The Every Child Matters Run/Walk on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at 8:30 a.m. This year’s event will be held at the historic CBS Studio Center located at 4024 Radford Ave., Studio City, CA, bringing families, athletes, students, corporations, and the entire community together to support the fight against child poverty.  A Cultural Extravaganza featuring Caribbean Cuisine, Limbo Dancers, Fire-Eaters, Live Steel Bands, Moko Jumbies and much more set the backdrop of this healthy, fun-filled family event.  Participants are encouraged to register in advance to receive the reduced rates of $35 (5K Adult Runner – timed), $25 (5K Child Runner aged 9 – 17 years – timed) and $7 per child ages 8 and under (1K Kiddies Run).  Registration is also available on the day of the event, but increased rates will apply.

Running enthusiasts and all supporters of Children’s Rights are encouraged to form a team, bringing together friends and family members to challenge themselves to completing the 3.1 mile course and to raise awareness and funds for the Every Child Matters campaign to increase access to early education for special needs children across the Caribbean.

Cash prizes will be given to the top male and female adult finishers.  Winners in each age group, along with top fundraising teams will be recognized as part of an awards ceremony at the end of the race.

Check-in on the day of the event will begin at 7:00 a.m.  The Kids’ 1K will start at 10:00 a.m.  The 5K Run/Walk will begin at 8:30 a.m.  For more information on the event, to volunteer, register or become a sponsor, visit EveryChildMatters5K.org. The Race will be directed by Walt Waltson of W2 Promotions, a well-known race director in the Los Angeles area, and managed by Mr. Elmo Johnson, an avid runner and member of Children of the Caribbean Foundation.
