TORONTO - Feb. 24, 2015 - PRLog -- On Friday, February 20th, the Honourable Tony Clement, President of the Treasury Board, visited INcubes—Toronto based Accelerator—and spoke about the federal government’s plans regarding innovation and the technology ecosystem. “Our Government has made record investments in science, technology and innovation in order to push the boundaries of knowledge, create jobs and opportunities, and improve the quality of life of Canadians,” said Minister Clement. “Canada is ranked first in the G-7 for our support for research and development in our Colleges, Universities and other research institutes.”

Minister Clement mentioned the Canada Accelerator and Incubator Program as an example of the federal government’s continued support, saying that “[it] received an additional $40 million dollars over four years to deliver intensive mentoring opportunities as well as a wide range of programming options in order to help entrepreneurs develop businesses. ”

The event was limited to 40 attendees, who were able to engage in a meaningful Q&A with the Minister. Among the attendees was Juan Gonzalez, Founder and CEO of Videogami (an INcubes alumni company)—a groundbreaking video platform that specializes in making videos and live streams more social to keep viewers coming back. Juan expressed his appreciation for the government’s support, acknowledging its role in the success of many startups, including his own.

Last weekend Videogami worked with Bell Media to take CTV’s etalk Oscar coverage to the next level on social media with the use of its innovative Media Center platform. Videogami personnel were on site at the eTalk studio to connect multiple raw camera feeds directly into the Media Center platform during the production of the eTalk Red Carpet show. The Videogami platform allowed the eTalk production team to clip the best red carpet moments from any of the camera feeds in real-time and push them as video clips through their @etalkCTV twitter account, in some cases even before that video was aired through their main TV broadcast. It also allowed them to compile a highlight reel of trending clips from Oscar night, letting those who missed it see the most memorable moments.

“The team at Videogami is proud to have powered live clips for the #etalkRedCarpet coverage on Twitter, offering people exclusive access to the best moments of the event in real-time, sometimes before they were aired on TV,” says Gonzalez. “This is what the future of media coverage for live events looks like and we are thrilled the top broadcaster in Canada agrees with us.”
