Event Recap: Nick Bollettieri & The Tennis Club at NBCC Team Up To Donate To Make-A-Wish

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - Feb. 11, 2015 - PRLog -- Newport Beach, Orange County - February 11, 2015

Legendary tennis coach and Hall of Fame inductee, Nick Bollettieri and his mentee Sean Abdali, owner of The Tennis Club and Director of Grand Slam Tennis Academy, hosted a free tennis clinic last Sunday on February 8th for over 250 adults and juniors at The Tennis Club at Newport Beach Country Club with the support of Make-A-Wish. The public was very generous and they raised $2500 in less than 90 minutes for this charity.

The event was a huge success drawing tennis players and enthusiasts between the ages of 5 to 80 years old. Attendees were divided into 11 courts across The Tennis Club's 24 courts, and Nick Bollettieri stepped on each and every court to meet and instruct each player. "Nick has been giving to the sport his whole career and the opportunity that youngsters have to learn from the World's most successful coach is just incredible," said Sean Abdali (owner of The Tennis Club), a long-term mentee and former student of Nick Bollettieri Tennis

Academy.

Not only were the attendees able to learn from one of the greats who contributed to the careers of tennis superstars Andre Agassi, Serna Williams, and Maria Sharapova; fun raffles also took place with prizes such as a free racket give away in behalf of The Tennis Club's new pro shop, a free private lesson from the newest coach in Orange County responsible in developing players in the top 10 ranking in the World, and one month free membership at The Tennis Club or 3 private lessons for adults, or one week training at the Grand Slam Tennis program for juniors.

100% of the proceeds collected went towards Make-A-Wish; a charity that grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
