DALLAS - Feb. 6, 2015 - PRLog -- DALLAS, TX (FEBRUARY 5TH, 2015) – CINQ Gallery, the newest fine art and interior design gallery located on the south-end of Dragon St. opens it’s doors to the public this Spring with its grand opening on Saturday, February 7th from 6-8pm.

CINQ Gallery is Dragon street’s newest fusion of fine art juxtaposed with interior design pieces, hand-picked by the owners and many hand-built by the founding partner, Scott David Dawson.

The opening exhibit will highlight the works of five contemporary artists including the monotype prints and paintings of native New Zealander, Scott Dawson, alongside the custom fabricated printing press the artist built explicitly for his printing style. Published author, Steven Tye Culbert, of The Beautiful Woman without Mercy, Love Song for the Giant Contessa, and The King of Scarecrows will exhibit a series of his oil paintings and has been noted by Dallas Observer’s, Jenny Block as “[Steven is] one of those artists who eschews the idea that there is any limit to the number of ways you can paint.”

The LA-based artist, “ZUMI” will exhibit large-scale pieces from his series, “Balance.” ZUMI’s work focuses on themes of balance, both internal and external, as his art is representative of other areas of his life’s work. Two local artists are also exhibiting at CINQ: Oscar Mejia and Robert Oltarzewski. Honduras-born and recent SMU graduate, Oscar Mejia, has produced work in mixed media and ink with a desire to avoid boundaries and limitations that are created when the work and the self seek to be defined. Artist Robert Oltarzewski’s raw installations in the gallery are described as tearing away layers of time in his attempt to reveal the past and bring it into the present moment. A boheme in nature, Robert Oltarzewski, a former professional cyclist, is his own man, bringing the past into the present.

The exhibition is curated by Reese Threadgill, Executive Director, and Co-Owner, Scott Dawson, of CINQ Gallery.

For Mr. Dawson, “[CINQ] is a lifelong dream come to fruition. Not just a gallery, it is the amalgamation of experiences, sensibilities, trials and errors and a love for the arts. Like all creative works, the process has been just as much, if not more, rewarding and enriching than the finished product. The ability to share a dream with everyone involved at CINQ has been the most rewarding of all. The artists at CINQ are extremely talented and skilled; it has truly been a privilege to work with them and create an environment in which they can thrive and prosper.”

“Our goal is to promote the vision and creative influence of these artists into the growing Dallas art community alongside interior design pieces to create a new experience and break the traditional mold and feel of art galleries,” says Reese Threadgill.

The CINQ Gallery is the newest addition to Dragon St. in the heart of the growing Dallas Design District. The stylishly industrial gallery exhibits emerging and established artists creating contemporary works in print, on canvas and various other forms of media and installation. The mission of CINQ Gallery is to bridge various artist communities and provide its artists greater exposure to new markets in an environment of design that both collectors and interior designers can appreciate and discover inspiration.
