L.A. Wolves FC and Las Vegas Highrollers Battle It out in the Rain with 1-1 Result

TORRANCE, Calif. - Jan. 12, 2015 - PRLog -- January 12, 2014 – The L.A. Wolves FC (8-3-1) and the Las Vegas High Rollers (5-2-3) played to a 1-1 tie as the two clubs meet Saturday nightat Toyota Sports Complex in Torrance, Ca on a cold rainy Southern California night. The Wolves continued their undefeated streak as the club has not lost in its last nine league matches.

The match started with both clubs feeling each other out as Las Vegas has slowly moved into the playoff picture after a slow start, holding a third place position in the Western Conference, while the Wolves kicked off the match tied for first place with Santa Monica. Las Vegas played a good first half creating several chances for themselves and finally in the 36’ minute off a nice one-two on the left side of the box, Las Vegas’s forward hammered the ball past Wolves Goalkeeper Lucas Nascimento giving the Highrollers the 1-0 going into halftime.

After a halftime break, the L.A. Wolves played with more meaning and a more direct game. Several opportunities were created with the aggressive play but unfortunately goals were missed as the Wolves missed at least three good scoring opportunities in front of the goal. With the game getting into the final minutes the Wolves were pressuring and finally got a break off a nice cross from L.A. Wolves Forward Andre Turoldo from the right side. Turoldo found midfielder Chris Lopez who was lurking in the box as Lopez put a foot on the ball to redirect it into the back of the net giving the Wolves a dramatic 90’ minute goal which is where the match would end 1-1.

Yan Skwara Head Coach of the L.A Wolves FC commented. “We played ok tonight and definitely put our working caps in the second half so earning a point tonight is well deserved as I like the fact that the boys never let down and kept pushing til the bitter end. Getting the goal in extra time shows heart. We are moving in the right direction as we get closer to playoffs and will have some keys defenders and midfielders back into the mix starting this week so this should really help us get back into a more consistent rhythm from the opening whistle.
