Successful Women Entrepreneurs Give Back – 'Tis the Season!

Women entrepreneurs running some of the fastest growing private companies in the U. S. make philanthropy an integral part of business and life

Dec. 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Successful woman entrepreneurs give back to the world in a number of ways every day.  They provide products and services for their customers, create jobs, and serve as role models for their children and their communities.  Many of them devote time and money to philanthropic causes throughout the year as well.

Because Christmas is the time when the world’s focus on giving is at its highest, three of these women entrepreneurs are harnessing that focus to benefit causes they believe in.

Bernadette Coleman, founder and CEO of Advice Interactive Group, is also a founder of TryMunity – a social network for those suffering from traumatic brain injury. For Christmas 2014, TryMunity has joined forces with Tree Classics to raise funds for the TryMunity community.  During the holidays, Tree Classics donates a percentage of every sale to nationally-recognized and established charitable organizations. TryMunity is on the short list of organizations that Tree Classics is supporting this year.

Tree Classics customers also have the opportunity to make an additional donation of their own to a nonprofit if they wish to do so. Tree Classics is offering a giveaway for those who make such a donation before Christmas.

Jessica Herrin’s Stella & Dot Foundation just completed its Buy one, Gift one (BOGO) campaign in North America and the UK. They conducted the campaign during the month of November with the goal to gift families during the Christmas season and throughout the New Year.  In North America, to thank the military for their service, Stella & Dot is donating over 10,000 accessories to women, wives, and daughters of the U.S. Military and Canadian Armed Forces through their non-profit partners, the Military Officers Association of America in the US and the Military Family Resource Center - National Capital Region in Canada.

In the UK, the program focused on honoring unsung heroes.  Stella & Dot partnered with Place2Be and is donating 1,000 accessories to the volunteers and staff who are dedicated to providing emotional and mental health services in over 230 primary and secondary schools across the UK.

Marie Forleo’s award-winning Web TV show, MarieTV, will soon celebrate its 4th anniversary.  To mark the occasion, Marie Forleo International organized a fundraising campaign for the holiday season with charity:water to provide access to one of the most fundamental resources needed for life – clean running water.  The goal of $40,000 was met in less than 24 hours and the campaign is still going strong.  Private donors cover operating costs so that 100% of all public donations can go directly to fund water project.

Marie Forleo International seeks to partner with organizations that do work in areas that Forleo and her team are passionate about. They get to know the founders of these organizations, their initiatives, and their track records, and also look at their philosophy and impact. When there's alignment, partnerships are pursued.

Bernadette Coleman, Jessica Herrin, and Marie Forleo are featured in Successful Woman Entrepreneurs Give Back, an article series that focuses on women who have mastered the art of creating and maintaining a business that sustains and enriches every aspect of their lives.
