New watch brand says you only need one hand
No logo, one hand, under $200. The Eureka Watch Co just released the ultimate last minute gift for the stylish man.
Founded by two young entrepreneurs from Australia with a passion for functional design, The Eureka Watch Company is their first campaign of this type. Founder Dana Hooshmand says of the campaign:
“I don’t believe you should have to pay more for minimalist design. One-handed watches have appealed to me conceptually for a long time, when I went hunting for the right one to buy everything I found was either poor quality, hard to read or eye-wateringly expensive.
“So I was inspired to create something that I would want and could afford to wear.
“Margot took a bit of convincing about the idea – for a lot of people, the idea of a one-handed watch at first seems bizarre, but I won her over to the idea with a clear face you can read to within a few minutes
When asked how he felt about launching his first crowd-funding campaign, Dana said:
“It’s a really exciting time – we’ve got the product to a place where we really believe in it – it looks and feels great. I have to say though that it is nerve-wracking as well! I spend a lot of time refreshing our page to see how we’re doing!”
Then he adds: “So far, so good”.
The company will send printable gift certificates as requested for seasonal gifts – so you can order literally right up to the last minute. The watches will be delivered in April next year, after undergoing a thorough quality assurance process.
The watch comes with a Swiss movement, sapphire (very scratch resistant) glass, luminous markers (perfect for telling the time without lighting up your room in the middle of the night) and is 50m water resistant. Shoppers can pick between a leather (in black or tan) or Milanese mesh strap.
