A plug in allows you to search for something without opening a new window.

Plug ins add functionality to any website.

Plug INS will extend the capability of your browser allowing it to play audio files. Windows Media Player is an excellent example of a great plug in.

Some developers refer to plug INS as additional software applications. Plug ins are also known as Add ons.

Let’s talk about some additional examples of commonly used plug ins. The Google toolbar is a great tool known to many users. The Google Toolbar will allow any user to view the Google page rank of any page visited.  The page rank is Google’s opinion of a webpage’s contribution to the complete Internet discussion for any given topic.

The Alexa toolbar gives you an approximate user count for each website you visit.  Alexa has a ranking system with the top websites having the lowest rank.  An Alexa ranking of 7,000,000 would not be good for your site.  Alexa rankings of 10,000 and below are strong Alexa rankings.

To install a Plug in, open Internet Explorer, go to tools and right click on the tools menu.

You want to go to enable disable plug ins.

In disabled box choose a tool you want to enable.

Now click the OK manage add on dialog box.

Congratulations, you are finished.
