Bold New Shipping Container Architecture Alliance Is Formed

Dec. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA. Dec. 2014 -- International Port Management Enterprise (IPME) and DeMaria Design/Logical Homes has formed an alliance that will re-define how shipping container based buildings and structures are designed, fabricated and constructed.

Most governing agencies are clueless and often without historical precedent, when it comes to evaluating container based projects for building permit approval and thus, one of the brightest enviro-conscious building solutions has been impeded by those same governmental agencies that call for “green” and forward thinking innovation.  Architects, Developers and the general public have been frustrated with the process and they’re in need of tested strategies to clear these building permit hurdles along with fabrication capabilities to execute the most progressive building designs – that’s where IMPE/DeMaria steps in.

Merging services and products for Architects and Designers who are creating buildings with shipping containers, Craig Rapoza, IPME Chief Operating Officer, stated, “Our goal is to assist fellow professionals with critical bits and pieces to make their buildings a reality or we can spearhead their entire project – all under the guidance of an award winning team.” IPME/DeMaria provides: 1) consulting to Architects, Designers, Contractors and Developers, 2) successful strategies for working with local governing agencies and building codes, 3) architectural design and engineering detail resources, and 4) standardized pre-fab and on-site construction solutions.

“IPME is a reliable long-term partner/fabricator with an understanding of architectural design and detailing for our national and international projects,” said Architect Peter DeMaria, Design Principal at DeMaria Design - a pioneer in container architecture. Merging DeMaria’s design prowess with IPME’s fabrication skill-set, the alliance modifies standard ISO Shipping Containers and redeploys them as building blocks that house people - at work, at home, at play.  “We provide turn key solutions for those pursuing a container based building. If we’re part of their team, they won’t have to start from scratch when they’re designing or trying to get a project approved.” DeMaria, a recipient of three AIA (American Institute of Architects) Excellence in Design Awards for container based projects, is now expanding with a regional office in Austin, TX, in addition to existing locations in Los Angeles and NJ/NY. DeMaria added, “We’re helping Architects across the US as they leverage our success and experience into their own projects. Our collaboration with IPME provides the highest level of design innovation, fabrication and construction in the industry – an alliance that pays dividends for our clients”

IPME (www.goipme.com) is an industry leader in fabrication and coordination of successful container projects including Container Park in Las Vegas. DeMaria Design’s work (www.demariadesign.com), including the revolutionary Redondo Beach House, has spawned a design movement of container based architecture thourghout the US.  Added Bill Hinchliff, CEO of IPME, “as the popularity and interest in container based construction increases, IPME is well positioned to perform. Our strategic partners, proven track record and diverse portfolio of completed projects truly set us apart.”   IPME/DeMaria is engaged in commercial, educational, museums, residential, hotels, mixed-use and special event projects with a client base that includes Hewlett Packard, RedBull, Hurley, Target, DWELL, and Waldorf School OC – each with its specific design needs fulfilled with the adaptable containers.
