Roommates4Boomers Connects With Village to Village Network, Next Village San Francisco & Living in Community

Roommates4Boomers, the national roommate-matching site for women over 50, has forged relationships with three organizations dedicated to enhancing independent and creative lifestyle options for the over-50 population. This brings to four the number of organizations with whom Roommates4Boomers is reaching out to offer house sharing options and assistance to over-50 women. Last July, Roommates4Boomers announced a similar relationship with TTN-HOME in San Francisco.

PORTLAND, Ore. - Dec. 2, 2014 - PRLog -- Roommates4Boomers, the national roommate-matching site for women over 50, has forged relationships with several organizations dedicated to enhancing access to services, fostering independent living, and sharing creative housing options for the over-50 population.

The national grass-roots organization Village to Village Network is now sharing news of Roommates4Boomers with its members, making them aware of the service’s ability to find compatible roommates for shared living options.

Next Village San Francisco and the Living in Community Network in Sarasota, Florida also are now sharing news of Roommates4Boomers plus offering free membership through the end of the year in exchange for feedback from their members who try the service.

Village to Village Network and Next Village San Francisco support the ability to “age in place” in the community where older citizens have lived for all or most of their adult lives, by coordinating access to affordable and volunteer provided services for older adults, such as transportation, health and wellness programs, and social and educational activities. Living in Community Network brings members together to explore creative and shared housing options and provide advice and support to one another.

Also continuing is Roommates4Boomers’ earlier agreement with TTN-HOME, a special program of the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of The Transition Network (TTN), a national organization for women over 50.

“All of these organizations are doing great work to enrich and promote health and community for those 50 and up,” says founder Karen Venable. “They know how important shared living is going to be for a growing number of boomers, especially boomer women, in the years to come.”

Roommates4Boomers is a roommate-finding service for women 50 and up, and works much like eHarmony®, using a detailed profile system to match women with similar preferences, attitudes, tastes, and habits. Women who show a high degree of compatibility have the ability to contact one another through the membership site and explore house-sharing possibilities. With a sleek user-friendly design, Roommates4Boomers has brought the roommate/home share experience for Boomer women into the tech-connected era.  For all visitors to the site, the service is free until a match is found and a member wants to make contact with her potential roommate. The price for unlimited contacts is then $29.95 per month. Launched in May 2014, Roommates4Boomers has seen rapid growth as it expands into cities around the country.
