Nashville Superheroes Team-up for Christmas Toy Drive

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dec. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- The superhero cosplayers of Cosplay Collective and The Rogues Gallery are teaming up with BDC Entertainment, The Unlockable Characters and Comic City Conventions on Dec 13^th to present a Christmas Cosplay Photo Jam and Toy Drive to benefit hospitalized children this Christmas season.

“We (Cosplay Collective) wanted to create an event to bring Middle TN Cosplayers together” says Cosplay Collective co-founder Dee Volpe, “but we wanted to make it more impactful than just another social event. So we came up with pairing a toy drive with a fun social gathering.” On Saturday Dec 13^th, Cosplayers and Photographers will get together for an open-to-the-public family friendly event. Nashville Cosplayers and Photographers will be networking to create commerical quality photos, but the public will also get to join in the fun and meet and greet Middle TN cosplayers and have pictures taken with their favorite superhero or animated characters! To benefit hospitalized children, admission is free with donation of a packaged toy.

Cosplay is the art of re-creating classic comic book and cartoon characters in real life has becoming incredibly popular in recent years with the increased popularity and awareness thanks to recent films like The Dark Knight, Avengers, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Disney and Pixar films are also popular among cosplayers, especially characters from Brave and Frozen.

In addition to the photo opportunities, Amy Sulam of the Unlockable Characters will be performing parts of her comic centric stand-up, and Big Daddy Cool & The Bombshell Kittens will be on hand to perform some of their patented Swing Magic!

The Christmas Cosplay Photo Jam and Toy Drive will be held Dec 13^th at American Legion Post 82 located at 3204 Gallatin Pike in Inglewood. The event will be held from 10 AM – 1 PM. The event is family friendly and admission is free with a donation of a packaged toy.
