Georgia Power & United Healthcare team up for LHTYF's Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala

Nov. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation is pleased to announce the 4th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala on Friday, December 5th at Georgia Power's corporate headquarters in Atlanta.  The event marks the organization's fourth year serving Fulton and Dekalb counties while educating children on healthy lifestyle habits to avoid obesity, diabetes and hypertension.

Each year at the Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala, Live Healthy & Thrive Youth Foundation honors local professionals who exemplify outstanding career achievement and philanthropy as well as award high school students with $1000 book scholarships for college. The 2014 Pinnacle Awards honorees are: Dr. Yasmin Tyler-Hill of Morehouse School of Medicine, Karen Wheel Carter J.D. of Georgia Perimeter College and Chef Elliott Farmer, Farmer Gourmet Catering.

Sponsors of the gala include: Georgia Power, United Healthcare, Wal-Mart and Southern Barter Club. The 4th Annual Pinnacle Awards & Scholarship Gala will feature a gourmet dinner buffet and program hosted by Deidra Dukes of Fox 5 TV, keynote address by Chairman John Eaves of Fulton County with special guests, Joyce Littel and Larry Tinsley of WVEE-V103 radio, comedian Griff, Vince 'the voice' Bailey and entertainment by Amber Holcomb featured in American Idol's Season 12. There will be a live auction featuring family vacations and coveted prizes hosted by Emmy award-winning host and auctioneer Aurea McGarry.
