PBS39 and ASR Media Productions Co-produce Educational Children's Programs

Science Time and Fireflies Musical Yoga for Kids are set to begin airing on Friday, October 24
 
BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Oct. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Bethlehem, PA -- October 26, 2014 -- PBS39 and ASR Media Productions are pleased to announce the premiere of two educational children’s programs. Science Time and Fireflies Musical Yoga for Kids began airing on Friday, October 24 at 3:30pm on PBS39. These entertaining and informative television shows for children ages five to ten promote the importance of education and creativity.  The shows will continue to air in the same time slot.

Science Time, a half-hour program co-produced by PBS39 and ASR Media Productions, features Lehigh University Physics Professor, Gary Deleo, and talented student actors from the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts. This exciting and educational television series emphasizes the need for STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education, which is a proven area of interest among educators. Each episode highlights a STEM topic and features local experts, educational facilities and businesses such as DaVinci Science Center, Lost River Caverns, WFMZ Channel 69, Wildlands Conservancy, and Martin Guitar.

Fireflies Musical Yoga for Kids, airs directly after Science Time. This 12-part series consists of a three-minute instruction and is a wonderful tool for parents and educators to help children focus and prepare for learning through yoga, music and positivity. In each program, host and award-winning children's yoga expert and musician, Kira Willey, highlights positive character strengths for the children. In our fast-paced world, Kira's unique approach marries her original music to gentle movement allowing children to calm their minds and relax their bodies.

Kira Willey is a nationally recognized musician and yoga teacher based in the Lehigh Valley. She is the creator of Fireflies Musical Yoga for Kids. Her first two CDs (Dance for the Sun and Kings & Queens of the Forest) have won Parents' Choice Awards among others. Her songs include the hits "Colors" (featured in a worldwide Dell advertising campaign in 2008) and "Roller Coaster," which won the Independent Music Award for Best Children's Song; both get regular play on SiriusXM Satellite Radio. SiriusXM's Kids Place Live will begin airing a series of Kira's "Back Seat Yoga Breaks" this month. In September, she led sessions with hundreds of teachers at the National Kids Yoga Conference in Washington DC. Sweet vocals, catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics are the hallmarks of Willey's style. Her third yoga-for-kids album, How To Be a Cloud, will be released nationally on November 18th.
