The West Adams WorkSource Center Grand Opening is the first of 17 WorkSource Center Grand Openings sponsored by the City of Los Angeles. The funding for these WorkSource Centers is drawn from the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) monies approved by the City of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board (WIB) and administered under the authority of the City of Los Angeles Economic and Workforce Development Department (EWDD). The West Adams WorkSource Center is designed to help job seekers access employment, education, training, and support services to succeed in the labor market and to assist employers with resources and skilled workers they need to compete in the regional and global economies. The goal of the West Adams WorkSource Center is to enroll 2,650 job seekers within the Crenshaw District Corridor of South Los Angeles and assist 70 businesses. In order to reach its goals, the Center will implement the EWDD’s redesigned WorkSource System utilizing the Integrated Services Delivery (ISD) model. The ISD model will ensure the seamless delivery of services to the adult and dislocated worker job seekers and businesses by coordinating the efforts of core and strategic partners and various service providers.
