Salvation Army Akron To Honor Heart To Heart Communications Founders Norm Douglas, Larry Vuillemin

The Salvation Army of Summit County will spotlight Father Norm Douglas and Mr. Larry Vuillemin, co-founders of Heart to Heart Communications, Inc., at its annual Community Medal Award Luncheon and Kettle Kickoff on November 13th.

AKRON, Ohio - Oct. 8, 2014 - PRLog -- The Salvation Army of Summit County will spotlight Father Norm Douglas and Mr. Larry Vuillemin, co-founders of Heart to Heart Communications, Inc., at its annual Community Medal Award Luncheon and Kettle Kickoff November 13 from 11:30am to 1:00pm at The Tangier restaurant, 532 W. Market Street, Akron.

"Our Community Medal Award recognizes individuals who have made a significant impact in the Greater Akron community through professional and volunteer work," said Salvation Army Area Coordinator, Major David Dunham. "Past recipients of this distinguished award include Lebron James, Philip Maynard, Gary Taylor, Pastor Knute Larson, Reverend Ronald Fowler, Thomas Strauss, Thom Mandel, Rubber City Radio Group, Dorothy O. Jackson, and Steve Albrecht, and we are pleased to include Father Norm and Larry in this esteemed group."

Father Norm Douglas and Larry Vuillemin co-founded Heart to Heart Communications, Inc., a spiritually-centered interfaith organization that serves as a community catalyst for personal and spiritual development as a foundation for enriching workplaces.

Father Norman Douglas is a member of the Leadership Akron Class of 1997. He served several years on the Akron Bar Association Ethics Grievance Committee and the Board of Trustees for Coming Together Akron, and was an officer of the Character Counts Board. Father Norm co-authored

Larry Vuillemin, a native Akronite and former city councilman, is currently a partner with law firm Gorman, Malarcik, Pierce, and Vuillemin in Akron. Larry has been certified as a Spiritual Director through the Ignatian Spirituality Institute at John Carroll University.

The Salvation Army invites the community to join us in honoring Father Norm Douglas and Larry Vuillemin as our 2014 Community Medal Award Recipients at our luncheon ceremony and 2014 Red Kettle Kickoff, Thursday November 13 from 11:30am-1:00pm at The Tangier restaurant, 532 W. Market Street, Akron, 44303. Tables of eight are $500 and individual seats are $75.
