TEMPE, Ariz. - Oct. 1, 2014 - PRLog -- The 2014 Florida Association of Career and Technical Education (FACTE) Conference held in Wesley Chapel (FL) this past month provided Certification Partners with the ideal launching platform for making the CIW Enterprise Pricing Program available to public school systems nationwide. This innovative program leverages the purchasing power of large school districts into school districts of any size and in any state. “In far too many cases,” said Duane Hume, Senior VP for Strategic Initiatives at Certification Partners, “students in small and often rural communities are not afforded the same educational opportunities for advanced technologies enjoyed by their peers in larger school districts. It was time to do something about that.” During the conference, the School District of Palm Beach County in Florida, the 13th largest school district in the U.S., committed to 5,000 CIW students per year for a four-year period. According to Jay Boggess, Business/Technology Specialist for Palm Beach County Schools, “When presented with an opportunity that allowed us to expand the number of CIW programs in our schools, and fund them through the cost savings from this program, the decision was an easy one.” This pioneering action on his part immediately activated the CIW Enterprising Pricing Program nationwide, which includes both content and certification exam, at roughly half the normal cost.

By applying some fundamental business precepts to the issue, Certification Partners devised a solution based on school districts agreeing to purchase desired programs for a period of four years, the time it takes for a cohort of students to complete the CIW Web Foundations program. Once the minimum threshold of 5,000 students had been met, the pricing plan would be extended to all public school systems in the country. Incorporating safeguards into the plan to mitigate risks to the school districts was a priority from the outset. Barry Fingerhut, CEO of Certification Partners, summed it up by saying, “Our goal and our commitment was to essentially partner with school districts and provide them with a high quality product at an attractive price over multiple years, with course updates occurring at least twice during that period.”
