Ten percent of all proceeds from “Poets Are Not Useful” will go to the nonprofit organization, protect.org . Protect.org is a nonprofit organization that focuses on the protection of children from child abuse and neglect. A victim of child abuse herself, Protect.org’ Poets Are Not Useful is Alexander’s fifth book of poetry. Alexander is currently working on another collection of poems inspired by New Orleans. Alexander lived in New Orleans for ten until the “Great Levee Failure of ‘05” destroyed her home, business, and lifestyle. Although she was born in San Francisco, CA, Alexander considers the “Big Easy” her one and only home. One poem in particular, “Poet in Atlantis” was inspired by Alexander’s life in New Orleans. Alexander currently resides in Austin, Texas, but hopes to return to New Orleans one day. More informaton on Gwyndyn Alexander and Poets are Not Useful can be found at https://www.facebook.com/ End
