Optomap Scan Available In Loughborough At Visual Answers Optometrists
Award-winning Visual Answers Optometrists Loughborough has invested in the very latest eye-openeing hospital grade wide-field retinal imaging technology - the NEW Optos® Daytona:
'The Optos® Daytona is invaluable in the examination of the eyes and early diagnosis of:
- Retinal Tears
- Retinal Detachments
- Flashes and Floaters
- Eye Tumours
- Retinoschisis and other sight-threatening eye conditions that could lead to the loss of vision and even blindness if not detected early.
Traditional retinal photography takes an image of 30-45 degrees of your retina whilst the Optomap takes a high resolution scan of over 200 degrees – over 4 times the area.
This helps us quickly and accurately identify potential eye health and general health issues and the (AF) scans help provide a diagnosis and allow the right course of action that will minimise any future problems.
The investment in Optomap technology together with our previous commitment to Zeiss OCT Eye Scan technology, that allows us to take a 3D scan of the eyes to also to look under the surface of your retina and view microscopic changes to the optic nerve and macula. This OCT technology also provides early detection of:
- Macular Degeneration (Wet and Dry)
- Macular Holes
- Vitreous Detachments
- Epi-retinal Membranes
- Post Cataract blurring
- Optic Nerve Disease
'There are only a handful of optometry practices in the entire UK that have this level of diagnostic imaging and scanning instrumentation allowing us to see what’s really going on inside and even beyond your eyes', said Mohammed Bhojani Principal Optometrist and managing Director of Visual Answers optometrists in Quorn and Barrow Upon Soar in near Loughborough.
'This investment in the very latest diagnostic technology highlights the difference between a ‘sight test’ offered by High Street optical chains and an Eye Examination offered by Visual Answers. It protects our patient’s most precious sense - their sight and crucially provides tthe peace of mind to know for certain that their eyes are healthy. In the event that something serious is detected, then early diagnosis and treatment will provide the most successful outcomes.'
'The combined scans of both instruments complement perfectly together and can also help detect more general health conditions too such as diabetes, hypertension, strokes and trauma after physical injury or damage around the eyes too' said Mohammed.
Visual Answers recommends these additional scans for both adults and children and has created a cost effective and flexible way called 'Eye club' for all existing patients to benefit from the technology – an affordable care plan that’s provide the best standards of eye health at every check up and also helps save up to 25% on the cost of glasses. All for less than 50p per day.
According to the RNIB a person loses their eyesight in the UK every hour. This technology will help protect our clients against this'.
