Ethiopian Food Returns to South Florida

Hollywood, Florida- Ethiopian food is officially back in South Florida!  At the Yellow Green Farmer’s Market in Hollywood, Florida South Florida Ethiopian Restaurant is having their Grand Opening on August 2nd and 3rd.  The exotic food from East Africa will be served every weekend.  “There was a huge void left in South Florida that will finally get filled with this restaurant in Hollywood,” said Lewam Mekonnen, the Ethiopian Restaurant Co-Owner and native of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. According to Mekonnen, in other states people get great exposure to the food and really love the exotic taste and the cultural experience that Ethiopian restaurants provide.  People ask me all of the time where to find Ethiopian food in South Florida, it is really growing in popularity across America.

The restaurant will provide both meat and vegan entrees that are seasoned with authentic spices from Ethiopia.  “Ethiopian food is a fun experience, you get to eat with your hands and the food taste delicious.  I have taken many of my friends to eat at Ethiopian restaurants when I lived in California and it instantly became many of their favorite food,” said Derek Ford the other restaurant co-owner.  According to Ford, they are going to begin at Farmer’s Markets, currently they are opening at the Yellow Green Farmer’s Market located at 1940 N. 30th Road in Hollywood on Saturday’s and Sunday’s from 8am to 4pm and also they will be at Whole Foods on 2000 North Federal Highway in Fort Lauderdale on Tuesday’s from 4pm to 9pm and at the Whole Foods on 14956 Pines blvd. in Pembroke Pines on Thursday’s from 4pm to 9pm.  The website is southfloridaethiopianrestaurant.com
