Soccer News: Texas Teen Advances to Nationals

Eva Gonzalez Returns from Seattle, Washington and Proves to be a Mighty Contender in the World of Soccer by Qualifying for Nationals with the Dallas Texans Soccer Team. The Team Competes for the National Title in Richmond, Virginia July 12-17.

DALLAS - July 8, 2014 - PRLog -- Dallas, TX, July 8, 2014 /Krista Kelley PR/ - - Distinguished Bishop Lynch High School teen, Eva “Mouse” Gonzalez will compete for soccer Nationals with her ECNL team, The Dallas Texans July 12-17 in Richmond, Virginia. The elite team qualified for Nationals after competing in Seattle, Washington against three different teams this past June. The ECNL Dallas Texans first faced the Real So Cal ECNL California Team and won 4-2. With one win locked in, Eva “Mouse” Gonzalez and her teammates took to the field against the California Mustangs SC ECNL Team and tied 1-1. The Dallas Texans secured their advancement to finals with a win against the Massachusetts FC Stars winning 6-2.  The Dallas Texans travel next week to Richmond, Virginia for the ECNL U17 Soccer Nationals with Coach Leo Maric and team manager, Gerry Mshana.

Quickly growing in popularity across the United States, soccer has long been one of the most popular sports in Mexico.  Parents like Michelle and Robert Gonzalez of Dallas, Texas may be fueling the soccer craze. They are the proud parents of Eva Gonzalez and encourage her to pursue her dreams of being a soccer star-representing both the United States and Mexico. The 17 year old standout maintains a hefty schedule perfecting her skills and training year round for multiple teams. Eva “Mouse” Gonzalez has a history of assisting teams to championships. Last November, she played for the U 17 Mexican National Team as a starter and was named MVP during a game against the United States, where Mexico beat the U.S. team in penalties. Eva became a CONCACAF Gold Cup Champion-making history with a team that had never won the Gold Cup before. Making history a second time, Mexico’s team advanced to the 2014 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup with the help from their Mexican-American teammate from Texas-Eva Gonzalez.  Even though they were defeated in the second round play against Japan, the loss was to a team noted as one of the top women’s teams in the World. Eva returned to the U.S. and resumed training with the Dallas Texans-helping them achieve advancement. The ECNL League Nationals are based on all U.S. teams. Together as a team, Eva Gonzalez and the Dallas Texans compete for the National Title next week, where the winning team is awarded National Championship rings coupled with notoriety.
