Follow on Google News | East Meets West As Cherry Bomb Charmers Prepare To Battle Pinellas County Junior Derby!The east coast Cherry Bomb Charmers will clash with west Florida’s Pinellas County Junior Derby in a roller derby bout on July 13th in Orange Park, Florida.
The junior bout will be held at the Skate Station Funworks located at 230 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, Florida, at 6:00pm on Sunday, July 13th. Rink doors will open at 5:30pm for the bout. Admission for the event is $5 at the door. Active duty military and children ages 10 and under are admitted free. Roller derby fans should remember to bring their own chairs for the event. “IndeVengeance Day” is the second home game of the 2014 season in the Cherry Bomb Charmers’ home rink in Orange Park. “PCJD is the first team we’ve bouted that hails from outside our region,” said Charmers’ General Manager, Dana Wolfe, “We’re excited to see how the west coast plays roller derby. ‘IndeVengeance Day’ promises to be hard-hitting thrills for everyone.” The goal of the Cherry Bomb Charmers junior roller derby team is to encourage young skaters to realize their full potential and to empower them to become courageous young women, radiating confidence on and off the track. As a Charmer, junior derby skaters learn lifelong team-building skills. Skaters learn strength and independence, all the while celebrating their own individuality and unique identity in an atmosphere of sisterhood and family-like stewardship. The Cherry Bomb Charmers are a 501(c)3 nonprofit junior roller derby team and are based in Orange Park, Florida.
