RESCUE TAILS Here are just two tales of the wonderful animals who were about to be killed in public facilities, but thanks to our community supporters, Pets In Need was able to intervene and bring them to our state-of-the- NATHAN On a recent rescue run, a puppy cowered in the back of his cage, trying his best to be invisible. His trembling got so bad we thought he might be having a seizure! Then we noticed a scar that encircled his entire muzzle—where the puppy had had his mouth wired shut at some point in his young life. Thanks to community support, we gave Nathan the medical care he needed, and we are happy to report that he has fully recovered and blossomed into a playful and active puppy! OSWALD A days-old kitten, wrapped in a paper towel on a counter in a public facility was on his way to the euthanasia room because he was too young. Not moving and very cold to the touch, we asked if we could take him. He spent the drive back tucked in a human armpit to get his body temperature up, and he went right into a foster home. We discovered he had a vision deficit because he had been so malnourished. But thanks to the local community who support Pets In Need, Oswald now lives happily in Reno with a kitty who is totally blind. They are inseparable friends, and one would never know were sight-impaired watching them run and play! The entrance fee for the festival is $10 for adults, $5 for children ages 3 to 13, children under 3 are free. Tickets can be purchased prior to the event or at the door. With the exception of food sales, all monies will support Pets In Need animals. There is ample free parking at Cañada College campus, located at 4200 Farm Hill Blvd, Redwood City, CA 94061.
