Legislator Kennedy & Legislator Spencer team up TO SAVE LIVES!

May 20, 2014 - PRLog -- WHAT: Suffolk County Legislator John M. Kennedy Jr. (12^th District) and Legislator William R. Spencer, M.D. (18^th District) invite you to a Press Conference announcing the implementation of sweeping reforms made in this year to remedy CO Gas leaks; “Steve Nelson Safety Act”, Protection of Front Line Employees, Commercial Carbon Monoxide, & a Suffolk Community College initiative. These sweeping changes were a bipartisan initiative for safety coming in the wake of the tragic death of Legal Sea Food Manager, Steven Nelson.  Having been overcome by a concentration of carbon monoxide built up as a result of a faulty hot water heater, Mr. Nelson succumbed to the deadly odorless gas.  In addition, more than 20 other restaurant patrons and responders also suffered symptoms of nausea and dizziness.

WHO: Legislator Kennedy, Legislator Spencer and other members of the Suffolk County Legislature, Suffolk County Fire Marshal Ed Springer, Suffolk County Community College President Shaun McKay Bob Williams of Briscoe Protective Systems Inc. and the Long Island Alarm Association, Suffolk County Department of Public Works, and friends and family members of Steve Nelson.

DIRECTIONS: LIE (I-495) to Exit 57 (Route 454). Take Rte. 454 west beyond the merge with Nesconset Highway (Route 347). Approximately one-half of a mile after the merge, turn right onto County Center Rd (first stop light after Blydenburg County Park). Make the first left and look for the William H. Rogers Building on the left (south) side of the road.
