Is my Laptop charger short circuit?

This is a stupid question because I'm just worried. Let's say I'll buy a laptop from the US then I saw the laptop AC adapter battery charger in 120v. I'm living in the Philippines and we have 220v here.

April 23, 2014 - PRLog -- This is a stupid question because I'm just worried. Let's say I'll buy a laptop from the US then I saw the laptop AC adapter battery charger in 120v. I'm living in the Philippines and we have 220v here. So do laptop charger short circuit? Do I need always need a transformer for it to use? I don't see a case in my experience that a laptop charger could short circuit your outlet.

Of course that will short circuit. It's also likely to explode your battery in the laptop AND separately start a fire. If you purchased this laptop you would need to purchase an after market charger for it that is suitable for 220v

You should just look into replacing the charger. The problem isnt within your laptop so you dont need to completely replace your laptop. Just your charger. Chargers tend to die after about a year or so of usage or even sooner if theres improper usage by the consumer or manufacture defect. Look into getting a new charger as soon as possible. Make sure you get one from a reliable source instead of a cheap knock off on like ebay or something. I would personally suggest you visit topmic charger. They are very reputable and have great service. They include free shipping, 30 days money back guarantee, and free lifetime warranty so if the charger ever stops working, they would replace it at no additional cost, for life.

If you have any more questions feel free to send me a message and ill be happy to help!
