2014 RV Show Season a Positive Endeavor Despite Weather Woes

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. - April 22, 2014 - PRLog -- Starting right after the new year in Hartford, Connecticut at the Northeast RV & Camping Show, the sales team and support staff were in full show mode for eleven events.

Looking to grow their customer base for the South Burlington, Vermont and Schererville, Indiana dealerships, this year’s show locations included Springfield (both Massachusetts and Illinois), Milford, New Hampshire; Peoria, Illinois; Louisville, Kentucky; Vermont plus three in-house events.

“With back-to-back weekends, and sometimes two shows on the same weekend, things definitely got hectic,” said Vice President of Sales Todd McGinnis.  “However, even with the challenges added by some nasty winter weather, we accomplished our goals of selling some campers and getting more people acquainted with Pete’s RV.”

The tough winter did create some anxious moments.  There were some delays in vehicle transport and display setup, and even an opening day postponement due to hazardous driving conditions.

“When a storm hits…or even threatens to hit, you’re always thinking about how it is going to affect show attendance,” remarked Sales Consultant Chad Shepard.  “We were really fortunate that consumers showed resiliency and worked around the weather.  Thankfully, a slow show day due to poor weather was usually answered with heavier foot traffic and a positive buying climate the following day.”

Carrying the largest inventory in the history of the company, 2014 meant several new units being put on display by Pete’s RV during show season.  These included Coachmen Clipper, Heartland Prowler, and Forest River Wildwood travel trailers.  Pete’s RV best in show nods include the Keystone Cougar 337FLS front living room and Evergreen Bay Hill 340RK rear kitchen fifth wheel floorplans,
