MAH CET 2014 has no 100 percentiler, 70-100 score range has Good options

It’s a rare situation that there is no 100 percentiler in MAH CET 2014. A percentile of 99.9 is awarded in the range of 154-158 marks. More applicants can be accommodated in batch 2014-16

DELHI/NCR, India - April 21, 2014 - PRLog -- Going by the MAHCET 2014 MBA/MMS/PGDM results analysis, it is evidently clear that not only number of test takers have  substantially reduced in 2014 in comparison to 2012 (No MAHCET was held in 2013) but the scores have also taken a down trend.  On the top of it, number of seats for various management programmes in most of the colleges has increased from 34 thousand in 2012 to 45 thousand in 2014, a clear indicator that more applicants can be accommodated in batch 2014-16. This phenomenon is going to tremendously help especially those who have scored on lower side.

It’s a rare situation that there is no 100 percentiler in MAH CET 2014 (http://www.mbauniverse.com/article/id/7647/MAH-CET-2014). A percentile of 99.9 is awarded in the range of 154-158 marks, and surprisingly DTE Maharashtra in its published analysis has not mentioned anything about the score of any 100 percentiler nor have they responded to repeated query raised by MBAUniverse.com.

The expected cutoffs in B schools across Maharashtra were shared by us immediately after declaration of the MAHCET 2014 results (http://www.mbauniverse.com/mah_cet/mahcet.php).  Most of the top rated B schools in Mumbai and Pune have endorsed our predictions. It is also an accepted fact that the high percentilers with a score of 120+ will head for such B schools as KJ Somaiya, SIMSREE, JBIMS but those who scored below 100 should also be a happy lot as they have good options for MMS/MBA/PGDM in reputed B schools.

Admission options with CET and CMAT

The opportunity of admission exists not only with the score of MAHCET 2014 but also with the score of CMAT Feb 2014 which has also seen a nose dive in scores and number of candidates. The conversion of CMAT scores to percentile by DTE Maharashtra might also bring pleasant surprises for the admission seekers in Maharashtra b schools. Number of candidates who appeared in CMAT has declined by more than 28 thousand; average score has gone down from 94 to 70.  All these factors project good admission options through MAH CET 2014 Centralized Admission Process (CAP)

Hundreds of seats in Good B schools in Maharashtra went vacant in 2013 as MAH CET (http://www.mbauniverse.com/article/id/7647/MAH-CET-2014) was not conducted in 2013 and in 2014 the test results showed fewer candidates taking the test, out of them major chunk scored low marks. It surely has improved the chances of admission in good B school with fewer percentiles.

To enable the aspirants to arrive at the decision which management institute they should choose in order of preference before registering for CAP, MBAUniverse.com presents a round of B schools in Maharashtra with the expected cut offs in the range of 70 to 100 or 100+. Typically the percentile score in MAHCET 2014 (http://www.mbauniverse.com/mah_cet/mahcet.php) trails the raw score by 8 to 10 points.  A candidate with a score of 100 marks has secured the percentile score of 89.09. There are around 15 thousand aspirants between the percentile score of 63.85 to 91.91 (raw score range is 70 to 105).

Following list is indicative only. It indicates expected cut offs based on MAHCET and CMAT scores. In regard to MAH CET 2014 separate expected cut offs for Maharashtra State (MS) and outside Maharashtra State (OMS) candidates are taken into account. CMAT expected cut offs are separately mentioned and are meant for All India seats. The expected cut offs are raw score based and not percentile based.

Important points to note

The fee structure for MMS/MBA programmes which are run by the Department of management studies of various universities in Maharashtra, by the institutes affiliated to these universities or for specific seats in Private B schools is decided by Sikshan Shulka Samiti of Maharasthtra Government.  The fee is expected to be revised for admission 2014-16.  Till then Interim fee is supposed to be charged.

Apart from the above referred B schools there are number of other good management institutes offering MMS/MBA at affordable fee. Before filling up the preferences in CAP, candidates are advised to go through the list of B schools and their USPs.
