Cal State Northridge Student wins title of Miss California Icon

 
NORTHRIDGE, Calif. - April 10, 2014 - PRLog -- Cypress, CA, April 10, 2014 – CSUN student Shaniee Parker, was crowned Miss California Icon on Sunday April 6th, in Cypress California. Parker competed in three areas of competition runway modeling competition, evening gown, on-stage question and blind interview, were judges are prohibited from viewing a contestant’s physical appearance.

Currently a music education and Clarinet Performance major, Parker participates in both music and non-music related endeavors. She is a life coach at the LEAP Foundation held every summer at UCLA. She applied the time management and interview techniques, taught at LEAP, to secure a counseling position for this summer at the Ronald McDonald House Charities Camp for families affected by cancer.

Parker received a prize package valued at $3,000, which included $1,000 cash, crown, banner, professional photo shoot, business cards, a hotel stay to crown their successor, and additional prizes from sponsors.
