Gov't Leaders: Mike Rogers and Jeh Johnson Discuss Federal Policy

March 24, 2014 - PRLog -- Mike Rogers, House Intelligence Committee chairman, recently said that the U.S. military must arm states that could be embroiled in the Crimea crisis.

The Congressman from Michigan and former FBI special agent doesn't think the economic sanctions are enough and told Meet The Press that more must be done.

Rogers said military aid in the form of small arms, medical supplies and radio equipment should be sent to U.S. allies.

"You do that (offer defensive-posture weapon systems) in conjunction with sanctions, now you’ve got something that says, ‘Mr. Putin, we’re done with you expanding into other countries," Rogers said.

In other federal news, Jeh Johnson, Homeland Security Secretary, will discuss deportation policies with immigration advocacy groups.

The Obama administration deported a record number of illegal immigrants during the first term of Obama's presidency.

Congressional Hispanic Caucus legislators will also discuss the new rules with the DHS chief.
