NEWARK, N.J. - March 2, 2014 - PRLog -- NEWARK, NJ-March 2, 2014-Almin Hodzic (Budd Lake, NJ) led the Express with 33 points, but Staten Island had a total of 60 rebounds to power the Vipers to a 118-115 victory over the Jersey Express Saturday evening.

Jersey Express (8-2) made just fifteen of 21 free throws. Keon Lawrence (Newark, NJ) collected 21 points, six rebounds and eight assists. The Express also received 19 points from Jason Smith (Paterson, NJ) and 16 points from Corey Chandler (Newark, NJ).

The Express defeated the Vipers 101-98 on Jan. 18 therefore they are 1-1 against the Vipers. Hodzic’s free throw that led to Chandler’s field goal to complete a 3-point play handed the Express its biggest lead of the game 33-19 in the first quarter. The vipers then answered with an 11-2 run for a 30-35 edge at the end of the first quarter.

A 9-2 run by Staten Island in the final minutes of the game gave the Vipers a 117-115 lead. The Express then fouled and gave the Vipers another point which concluded the game at 118-115.

In the final home game for the Express on Saturday March 8, 2014, Naught by Nature’s Treach will be the 13th celebrity player as they take on The Bronx Holy Frames. Tickets can be purchased @
