Platinum Plus Label competes with 4 remaining major labels left in Nashville
Nominated by the subscribers of New Music Weekly magazine, Platinum Plus Nashville has located that special demographic that is producing over 500,000 streams a month in digital downloads for their artist roster. The label shines at the Country Radio Seminar which begins today in Music City USA.
The nomination of the label shows the strength of their current artist roster. The Platinum Plus artists score big in the Billboard/Nielsen 12-55 age group, which is the most sought after demographic for both radio and television stations. When asked, the GM of the label, Robert Metzgar explains that they have a totally different concept of the type, style and production of the music which has kept the label in the charts nationally.
Our music is positive, fresh and organic. It's developed in the hot fires of being in this town for the past 30 years and we want to be competitive with the other labels that are located here. Our artists sing music that lifts people up, creates a positive atmosphere around them and you feel a little bubbly inside after listening through to an entire album of our artist's songs. In the Radio Seminar issue of NMW Magazine, Doug Newnum is mentioned as one of our songwriters in that "positive country" genre.
Mr. Newnum has been writing hit songs for us over the past 15 years. He has not only written songs that portray our label in the best light, but he has recorded those songs with a voice that sounds very similar to Randy Owens in the supergroup ALABAMA. Various staffers from VH1, MTV and other networks have contacted me several times in the past year wanting to know the secret of the label's success. Our artist roster just has a deep fan base of several million devoted followers.
Getting over 500,000 streams a month from a roster of artists is fairly serious in today's digital download frenzy. We appeal to the "family values" demographic. You can take 5 CD's from our roster, put them in your CD player while you are doing the dishes and the kids are home playing in the room because of the weather and never have to worry about the lyrics or what they are listening to from our label. The bluegrass sounds of the SMOKEY RIVER BOYS, LESLIE SMITH DAVIS, and CORONATION waft through the house and you are left with a positive aura in the room.
