New Wine Brand Uncorks Success Early Through Social Media

Love Cork Screw brought together trio with love of wine and the challenge of new venture

CHICAGO - Jan. 20, 2014 - PRLog -- The wine industry has recently seen a resurgence of interest due to its popularity in mainstream culture. Thus, making a new entry into the market is a challenge, however, this reality didn’t stop the brains trust behind Love Cork Screw Wines. Wine enthusiasts and entrepreneurs Glenn Murray, Chrishon Lampley, and Tiffany Taylor noticed a void in the traditional wine market and came together to develop an upscale wine brand to help reach existing and untapped wine consumers.

Lampley created the Love Cork Screw Brand (the same name of her popular weekly radio show heard by thousands of listeners) also hosted Love Cork Screw Parties at her home and formerly owned the popular Three Peas Wine Bar in Chicago’s busy South Loop neighborhood. After studying the wine market, including trips to various wineries, Taylor knew that she wanted to enter into the wine business. Finally, Murray completed the trio when Lampley shared with him her vision and they felt his company’s marketing platform, which included several wine themed events, could help leverage the line of wines that Lampley envisioned.

Love Cork Screw Wines launched in December with six varietals. The whimsical focus of the brand is captured in the names of each - “We’re Movin On Up”( Cabernet) and “Head over Heels” (Sweet Riesling ) and “In Too Deep ” (Brusecco) are just a few. The wines are featured along with a social media campaign and a web commercial showing a couple enjoying a rendezvous over a bottle of wine.

Lampley notes, “I wanted our wines to be top of mind when they think of fun and escape, the “Love” represents my musings on my show, the “Cork” is a direct reference to wine and the “Screw,” well that’s the wildcard it can and does take the conversation in many different directions”. In its first month of launch, Love Cork Screw Wine is the featured wine at the West Loop Lounge Red Kiva, Michigan Avenue restaurant Fleetwood , Lakeview Eatery Bites Tapas and West Town Wine and Spirits in suburban Westchester with verbal commitments for more. In its first week on West Town’s shelves the brand sold out with an aggressive social media push to its supporters.  This is an unprecedented start for a brand new wine in a very competitive market and judging from the early response Love Cork Screw will be a force to be reckoned with.
