NEW YORK - Jan. 9, 2014 - PRLog -- NEW YORK January 9, 2014 – DataArt (http://www.dataart.com/), a custom software development firm that builds advanced solutions for select industries, today announced significant expansion of its global Healthcare & Life Sciences practice. In tandem, DataArt announced the completion of developing a new Health Home Patient Tracking system for BTQ (http://www.btqfinancial.com/), a New York-based firm that offers high quality customized financial outsourcing services, including medical billing.

The Affordable Care Act and growth in patients and data have led to many challenges for the healthcare industry, creating the need for new technology advances to enhance management.  In response to the increasing demand, DataArt appointed Daniel Piekarz (http://www.dataart.com/software-development-company/leadership/daniel-piekarz) as Vice President of Healthcare & Life Sciences Business Development, who joins DataArt from Medidata Solutions.

In addition to the new hire, the practice announced completion of an automated patient data management system for New York State’s Health Home project for BTQ. Established with the 2010 Affordable Care Act, the Health Home initiative is aimed at developing a patient tracking system to aid the New York State Department of Health (DOH) and the Health Home Data Management Providers (DMP) to communicate on the status of Medicaid members who are eligible for Health Home services.

DataArt automated a previously manual system to draw data from health home patients and care providers to be stored in one place and easily generate reports.  The system is HIPAA-compliant and stores all patient data securely, which includes an authorization process to ensure only relevant records are viewed by health home users and information is under the Protected Health Information Act (PHI).

“DataArt’s continued growth in the life sciences industry demonstrates our unparalleled level of knowledge and expertise in developing software compliant with various regulations and standards of this industry,” said Daniel Piekarz. “I’m excited to join such a talented team focused on making industry-defining projects, like the New York State Health Home initiative, a reality. While we have experience in many areas across the life sciences technology space, in the next year will be focusing on a subset of those areas, including PMS/EHR, medical billing, eClinical, and medical device communication and security.”

DataArt developers have completed over 100 medical software projects with a team of over 80 healthcare & life sciences domain experts and 900+ members of the technology team.
