Local Business Helping Community With Lost Power

LAPEER, Mich. - Dec. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Most of this weekend’s severe weather has passed, but some people still don't have power.

A local business comes to the rescue for many who still do not have power and heat in their homes. M53 Motel, located in Imlay City, MI has announced that those who still don't have power in their homes will receive a free night's stay when they stay for two or more nights at their motel from now until January 5th, 2014 (based on availibility).

And in the face of climate change, this are just the sort of traits that communities most need if they are to survive massive storms, adapt to changing conditions, and, most importantly, nurture a vigorous citizenship.

A spokesperson for the business said "M53 Motel is part of a community, and we’re committed to strengthening neighborhoods where we do business. We understand there are many seniors and low income families who are faced with the additional burden and we want to help in their struggle".

The motel has been in business for more than 20 years and is always looking to help the community in many ways. The business is also planning to organize a local food drive this year to help collect and donate food to local food banks.
