New Executive Chef at The Treasure, Koh Madsum

With his passion for Cooking, Chef Nortier De Buys brings over 6 years of experience in Italian, French and Asian Cuisine to his new role as the Executive Chef. He joins The Treasure from his most recent position as Head Chef / Consultant of Tribeca Restrobar, Bangkok and before that as Pastry Chef of the Issaya Siamese Club, Bangkok.

Prior to moving to Thailand, Chef De Buys, who is a native of South Africa, was Head Chef at The Sailing Club (a Sandals Restaurant), Nha Trang, Vietnam, where he played an important role in rebranding the restaurant including implementing new menus & signature dishes. Before that he worked for several restaurants in South Africa including, One & Only (Maze) in Cape Town as Chef De Partie, Le Quartier Francais (The Tasting Room) in Franchhoek as Senior Chef De Partie and Grande Roche (Bosman’s Restaurant) in Paarl as Commis de Cuisine.

His new role at The Treasure will give him the opportunity to express his passion for culinary creativity, whilst developing signature dishes with a combination of Thai and International influences.

About The Treasure

The Treasure is a newly constructed all-villa resort comprised of 37 units and located on the untouched island of Koh Madsum where guests can enjoy a wide range of facilities and services while enjoying a coral reef, white sand beach and stunning ocean views from both sides of the island.
