DECEMBER 2013, The Local Branch, recently voted best booth at the December 2013 UNIQUE LA tradeshow, is an artisan screen printing and leather goods lifestyle brand from San Francisco, CA. Their designs are original, with a native aesthetic and a historical point of view - and everything they make has a story to share.

The creative match, Blaine Vossler & Mackenzie Edgerton recently launched their business full time - and in early 2014 plan to take The Local Branch on the road in a mobile studio & pop-up shop. The roaming studio will set up anywhere from a national park to an urban neighborhood - the articles of clothing printed and leather goods crafted in these locations will then be tagged with the exact location in which they were made. In addition to their current line of apparel, leather goods, accessories and artwork, they will expand to carry unique objects and relics from the far corners of the places they visit. Most importantly, they will document every place they travel, and will share the story behind their work through their blog - or better yet, in person. “We get inspired by the history and culture that surrounds us. We love to travel and our brand has been deeply inspired by our explorations in the American West” says the couple.

The Local Branch is a little more than half way through their Kickstarter campaign (http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1265604191/the-local-...) - their goal is to raise $15,000 (stretch goal of $35,000) by December 28th to launch their venture. The rewards for backers are exclusive and varying depending on pledge - including a limited-edition “Native America” Map (only 250 made) for a $100 contribution. It was only appropriate to create an original hand drawn map of the United States to kick off this cross country adventure.
