Phantasm Books EPIC Fantasy Contest Winners

PITTSBURGH - Dec. 17, 2013 - PRLog -- Phantasm Books, Assent Publishing’s fantasy imprint, announces the winners of the Assent Publishing 2013 EPIC Fantasy Contest. The contest was designed to uncover exceptional fantasy manuscripts and enthusiastic authors.

This year’s Grand Prize Winner is San Francisco Bay Area author, Demise Robarge Tanaka, for her unique fantasy, Touch. On another world, in another time, a mysterious clang renders a curse where touch causes pain. Only two people are immune: a cloistered woman and a ne'er-do-well man who together embark on a perilous journey to find a cure. This story startles and holds the reader’s attention, telling a classical epic fantasy with strong world building and a very distinctive voice. Touch is scheduled for releasein the summer of 2014.

Ms. Tanaka wins a publishing contract with Assent Publishing, one-on-one coaching sessions with marketing expert and dean of the Assent Academy, Deborah Riley-Magnus, promotional bonuses, membership to the writer’s organization of her choice, and a Kindle Fire.
