Serve for the Kids to present $4,000 check to Horizons Savannah

SAVANNAH, Ga. - Dec. 13, 2013 - PRLog -- What: Volunteers from the December 5th Serve for the Kids event will present a check for the proceeds to Horizons Savannah. Serve for the Kids is an annual tennis round robin tournament held to raise funds for selected children’s charities. The event raised over $10,000 to be shared between Horizons Savannah and the Savannah Children’s Theatre. An additional scholarship was also created for high school tennis athletes.

Who: Horizons Savannah board members with Serve for the Kids volunteers

Why: To celebrate the efforts of this group of community volunteers to support the needs of children.

When: Wednesday, December 18th 10:00am check presentation

Where: Savannah Country Day School, 824 Stillwood Drive, Savannah GA 31419. The presentation will take place in the Pangea Garden located directly in front of the Lower School building. Please check in with the guard at the Stillwood Road Gate and she will direct you.

About Horizons:

The mission of Horizons is to provide students from low-income families in the Savannah area an academic, cultural, and recreational program designed to help close the achievement gap by preventing summer learning loss and encouraging academic growth.

Horizons Savannah, an affiliate of Horizons National, provides 6 weeks of summer enrichment programming to low-income students in the Savannah, GA area. Our program is hosted by two independent schools, Savannah Country Day School and Bethesda Academy.
