Kirby Chambliss announces new Team Chambliss Team Coordinator for Red Bull Air Races

ELOY, Ariz. - Dec. 12, 2013 - PRLog -- Team Chambliss is proud to announce new team member, Debby Standefer, who joins as Team Coordinator for the upcoming 2014 Red Bull Air Race season.  With an aviation career spanning over 25 years Debby, currently working on her fixed wing rating, took a different path to the sky as a commercial Lighter Than Air Balloon pilot and instructor.  Debby has had a long career in media, public relations and marketing and is the owner of D&D Marketing Concepts Inc., an integrated marketing and public relations firm specializing in aviation as well as producing company owned air shows of its own.  Kirby Chambliss stated, “I am super excited to have Debby on board with the Team and looking forward to a great 2014!”  Standefer stated, “I am thrilled to be a part of Team Chambliss and look forward to working with Kirby as he vies for his third Red Bull Air Race World Championship!”  As Team Coordinator Debby will be strategically positioning and showcasing two time Red Bull Air Race World Champion Kirby Chambliss through all facets of the media as well as working hard to provide the optimum environment and assistance for Kirby and the team on site at each Red Bull Air Race location.

Kirby Chambliss:  Kirby Chambliss is one of the most consistently successful pilots in the history of the Red Bull Air Races.  He has two RBAR World Championships and eight race victories under his belt and is looking for his third Championship this year.  Kirby has landed on the podium at least once in all seven years he has competed with his RBAR career spanning back to 2003.  “My team and I are very excited about racing again in 2014.  As always, I will be pushing hard to win!” stated Kirby who has spent so much time flying his Zivko Edge 540's he now jokes that the plane controls and wings are a mere extension of his own arms.  Kirby was raised racing motocross but always knew he'd be a pilot. He began flying at 13 and by 24 became the youngest commercial pilot at Southwest Airlines.  After his first aerobatic flight Kirby was immediately hooked. The idea of turning a plane upside down opened up a whole new world of opportunities for the young pilot. As years continued Kirby tirelessly trained, perfecting each maneuver and routine. To date, Kirby is a five time U.S. National Aerobatic Champion and has accumulated 13 medals in world aerobatic competition. Named one of the top 15 aerobatic pilots in the country, Kirby was invited to compete in the first Red Bull Air Race events in the early 2000's.  Along with the intense Red Bull Air Race schedule Kirby will be performing his aerobatic routine at Air Shows throughout the United States and South America.

Red Bull Air Races:  2014 brings the International Red Bull Air Races back in the skies with a seven race World Championship staged in six countries and on three continents.  Two United States locations will be held in Dallas/Ft Worth at Texas Motor Speedway September 6-7 and in Las Vegas at Las Vegas Motor Speedway October 11-12.  12 pilots, including two-time World Champion and Red Bull NA sponsored Kirby Chambliss, will be competing for the World Championship.  The Red Bull Air Races are the world’s fastest motorsport.  The 2014 Red Bull Air Races kick off in Abu Dhabi February 28th.
