Copperweld Purchases BiMetals Assets from CommScope
Equipment transfer will bring increased capacity to Fayetteville, TN facility
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Dec. 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Copperweld Bimetallics LLC, a leading global manufacturer and innovator of copper-clad bimetallic wire used in a variety of telecommunication, utility, transportation and other electrical applications, has purchased certain assets of the CommScope BiMetals® business of Hickory, NC-based CommScope Holding Company, Inc.
The transaction involves the purchase of equipment associated with the manufacture of all copper-clad aluminum and copper-clad steel products. CommScope will retain the processing equipment needed for the production of its GroundSmart®
A long-term supply arrangement between the two companies was also agreed upon, with Copperweld providing bimetallic wire to CommScope as needed for the manufacture of cables and other products.
The agreement between the two companies coincides with a renewed focus on providing superior customer service at Copperweld. The economic terms of the deal were not disclosed.
