Iasa Addresses Industry Need for Architecture Best Practices and Education with New Member Levels

AUSTIN, Texas - Dec. 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Starting December 10th 2013, Iasa, the largest global professional non-profit association for Enterprise and Technology architects is introducing a new membership model globally which will allow significantly higher participation in standards and best practices working groups as well as building a base for corporate case studies and information sharing.

Two new membership levels have been added to Iasa's existing ”Full Membership," which provide significant benefits and value to our individual members. Iasa has and will continue increasing benefits to full membership for 2014.

A new "Corporate Membership" level allows organizations to take the best of Iasa Global and Iasa Communities of Practice into their companies and to interact with the top organizations in the world to develop the standard of practice for enterprise and technology architecture. Iasa’s principle goal is to help corporations adopt a value based management approach to technology over a cost and time based approach. As a part of this initiative Iasa has created numerous working groups for architects to lead the industry. Some of these include knowledge communities in cloud, open source, and mobility, while others focus on activist and societal concerns like architects in disaster relief, fund raising for humanitarian aid and creating the next generation of technology leaders.

In addition, Iasa is introducing “Basic Free Membership” level allowing people new to the organization to explore a selection of benefits and learn more about Iasa for free as well as to participate in Iasa communities and knowledge development activities. The new basic membership level includes a limited selection of regular full membership benefits including a subscription to Iasa newsletters, access to free webinars, virtual knowledge and research communities as well as limited access to local chapter events/activities.

”This addition will more fully empower not just Architects but the organizations they work in to partake in the standardization and growth of the IT Architecture profession locally and globally.  Having three levels of membership, each tailored to unique needs, ensures that everyone has a place for their input to be more fully utilized.  This will contribute to an increased breadth and depth of industry proven best practice sharing as we continue to include more individuals in the conversations” explains Tom Thomas, Chair of Iasa's Board of Chapters and Membership.

“At the same time, I'm also looking forward to the value and benefit that adding “Corporate Membership” will bring to new and existing members.  This change is coming at a critical time in my opinion.  More and more organizations and individuals are embracing IT Architecture.  Iasa will help ensure we are all headed in the same direction of solving business problems using technology that adds value where and when it makes sense,” Tom Thomas continues.

Our new membership model is Iasa’s answer to our member’s inquiries and demands. Iasa’s corporate membership allows corporations a more strategic approach to plan education/resources for their architect teams and provides the base for Iasa’s knowledge and research communities,” said Damaris Bode –Global Community Director.
