Dec. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Verb Records recording artists, Corey Brooks Band, have been in ministry since 2009 with countless lives changed, #1 songs around the world, awards and nominations from various award shows, and a full-time tour schedule.

The musical style and members of the band have changed throughout the years as the band progressed into a more contemporary sound.  As these changes continue, the members feel it is time for a name change. “I think our fans have noticed that our style has really been changing, and this name change is just a good representation of our new sound. I also think it shows growth as artists.  We’re not teenagers anymore, and it’s past time to take my name off of the band,” states 24 year-old Corey Brooks.  As of January 1st, 2014, the Corey Brooks Band will be changing their name to Spoken For.

“The name Spoken For comes from 1 John 2 where John says we have an advocate in Jesus. When we sin, Jesus speaks on our behalf, and brings us to the Father.” - T.K. King

With this name change there will also be a structural change among the band members as Spoken For will be a duo.  The front men and song writers of Spoken For are Corey Brooks and T.K. King.  Both artists have been in music for around 11 years and have worked together in CBB for almost 2 years.  “We’re both so committed to this and it is what we feel called to do.  Whether it’s as CBB or Spoken For, we just want to show the love of Christ to a world in need,” says Brooks.

In the last few months, the CBB members have been seeking out what God’s will for their life is in this upcoming year.  Zane England, the band’s drummer and rapper, has joined the Coast Guard and will be shipping out in February of 2014.  Alec Tincher, the band’s keyboardist, stepped down in the fall to pursue his education.  He will be double majoring in Music Performance and Political Science.  With his full workload, he was no longer able to fulfill the band’s full time touring schedule.

“For years I was a soloist and then the lead vocalist of CBB, so the structure of a duo is so exciting for me because it is so different.  We have been playing shows the last 2 months like this, and it brings a whole new energy to the stage and gives the audience another personality to connect with.” - Corey Brooks

“Even though I got to work a little with Corey on the last CBB record, I’m so excited about the one we begin recording is less than a week, because I get to be so much more involved. It has been such an incredible experience seeing songs I have written come to live as we prepare them to be recorded. I cannot wait to hear the finished product!” - T.K. King

These changes will start to roll out at the beginning of the new year.  All shows booked for CBB in 2014 will be performed as Spoken For, and the new album currently in the works will be the debut album of Spoken For.  The album is set to release in late Spring 2014 on Brooks and King’s label, Verb Records, with all original works by Brooks & King.  Spoken For will still operate under the business umbrella of Corey Brooks Ministries.

“We cannot express our thanks enough to everyone who has supported us as CBB and we pray that your support will continue as we transition into Spoken For.” - Corey Brooks
