Dec. 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Aluminum metal is the most common and easy material to use during the process of cold forging. Due to the ductile nature of aluminum, complex shapes can be efficiently forged with intricate details and with less pressure.  Aluminum forging can also be performed under low temperatures, and even forged cold. Aluminum forging is similar to steel forging in many ways, but also has a few differences. During aluminum cold forging, the aluminum bars are sawed, formed and finished in a similar fashion as to steel forging.

However, the flash design for aluminum is usually thinner than steel. In addition, due to the more malleable and ductile properties of aluminum, it is most ideal to do aluminum forging using aluminum cold forging method.  Steel is less malleable and therefore will be best when hot forging steel in used.  In other words, steel is heat treated first in order for the material to be more easily altered by the process of hot forging. With the technology of aluminum cold forging advancing, it is now more beneficial to forge aluminum cold to achieve precise results, save money, and be able to produce efficiently in mass amounts. DF Precision Inc., a California cold forging company, focuses their expertise on the art of cold forging, and manufactures cold forgings within a faster production time.
