FRANKFORT, Ill. - Nov. 18, 2013 - PRLog -- Last year, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) published an article entitled, “Household Molds Linked to Childhood Asthma.”  The article discusses three species of mold that were more commonly found in homes of babies that would eventually develop asthma.

The article states, “More than 6 million children in the U.S. have asthma. Genes are known to play a role, and so does the home environment. Childhood asthma has been linked to indoor mold growing in a child's home as a result of moisture problems such as water leaks. The connection between mold and asthma, however, is complicated and not fully understood. Asthma is often associated with allergies, and molds spread by releasing tiny spores into the air, which can cause allergic reactions.”  The three species of mold that had the most association with asthma were Aspergillus ochraceus, Aspergillus unguis and Penicillium variabile.

Children with asthma face unique challenges that can be different from those faced by adults.  Asthma is one of the leading reasons children visit emergency rooms and miss school.  Although childhood asthma cannot be cured, eliminating exposure to high levels of mold and other potential links can make a tremendous difference in a child’s health.

“Unfortunately, many children live in homes and attend daycare or school in buildings that have suffered water damage or elevated humidity levels,” reports Chris Heller with FastMoldRemoval.com, a leading supplier of mold prevention and removal products.      “These properties frequently have high mold levels and Aspergillus and Penicillium are both commonly found in properties suffering from mold contamination.  In addition to mold’s association with asthma, people exposed to breathing mold can suffer from allergies, irritations and even fungal infections in some susceptible individuals.”

When mold is found, MMR mold stain remover and MPI antimicrobial are the products of choice for the nation’s leading mold remediation professionals.  MMR and MPI are versatile, easy to use and provide amazing results.  An online video that shows MMR mold stain remover in action can be seen on this online video:
