Ponte Vedra’s Brent Morris Named Woody’s Bar-B-Q® Franchisee of the Year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Nov. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- After more than 30 years of serving up heaping platters of slow-smoked barbecue and “comfort food” sides, it’s clear that Woody’s Bar-B-Q® Franchise System knows a thing or two about identifying a recipe for success. During the company’s recent November 2013 Annual Meeting held on Amelia Island, Florida, Woody’s bestowed its highest honor on Jacksonville native and Ponte Vedra franchise owner – Brent Morris – by naming him Woody’s Bar-B-Q Franchisee of the Year.

“Brent is an excellent operator,” insists Woody Mills, co-founder of the Jacksonville-based national barbecue franchise company. “He started out at a local Woody’s Bar-B-Q part-time during college, worked his way up to manager and eventually opened his own restaurant on Fernandina Beach. He later bought the Woody’s at Ponte Vedra and it has proven a perfect fit. He is there night and day, paying strict attention to the quality of the food that comes out of his kitchen, as well as the happiness of his staff and guests. It’s evident that he truly cares about his patrons, his team, his restaurant and honoring the Woody’s Bar-B-Q brand.”

Each year, the selection of Woody’s Bar-B-Q Franchisee of the Year is based upon a number of criteria, such as percentage of sales increases, quality assurance inspections, compliance with Woody’s Bar-B-Q corporate codes, total performance, general effort and overall morale of the franchise staff. Each year, the Franchisee of the Year is selected at the Corporate Level by committee vote, after which the winner is named at the company’s Annual Meeting.
