How Do Custom Made Orthotics Work?

Custom Made Orthotics are used to help correct the foot to a more normal position.

Oct. 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Custom Made Orthotics are a prescription medical device that is made from a non-weight bearing mold of your feet. It is designed to help re-align and control function of the feet in order to prevent and treat injuries. They might be used to limit specific motions like your foot turning in (supination) or turning out (pronation). They also help to redistribute pressure through the bottom of your feet to help relieve pain felt in the knees or back from jobs that require excessive standing. Through improving the alignment in the body, it can function more effectively with less stress placed on the muscles and joints in your hips, knees, and ankles. They help us maintain our lifestyle while also reducing painful symptoms. Orthotics may be worn during exercise, sports and daily activities. They should not create pain, and it is recommended you take time to let your feet adjust to the "new" alignment. They are great in treating those who have plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendonitis, bunions, Morton's Neuroma, back pain, knee pain and hip pain.

We carry a large variety of shoe types to compliment your custom made orthotics including running shoes, dress shoes, sandals, winter boots, work boots, and children's shoes. The foot is one of the most complicated part on our body, yet the least looked after. Custom made orthotics can be your step in the right direction to a pain free life.
