By: Tourism & Hospitality Educators Forum

SYDNEY - Oct. 27, 2013 - PRLog -- Forum Pat Forward, Federal TAFE Secretary, Australian Education Union, will address the Tourism and Hospitality Educators Forum in Sydney on 6 December, to discuss the impact of state budget cuts and and underfunding of TAFE colleges across Australia.

"Why do governments at federal and state and territory level treat students in TAFE and vocational education so differently than students in higher education?"Ms. Forward questioned on the AEU-sponsored website StopTAFECuts.com. "Why are VET institutions, including TAFEs being encouraged to profit from students, many of whom are the most disadvantaged in the country? Governments nationally and at state and territory level must commit to guaranteed funding and support for TAFE now."

The forum is co-hosted by Mundus Education Corporation, Amadeus IT Pacific, and Strathfield College. Featured speakers will explore diverse issues affecting
tourism and hospitality education, including training accreditation standards, global distribution systems, economic impacts, assessment techniques, and new training technologies.

Amadeus is the world’s leading transaction processor for the travel and tourism industry, providing technology solutions to airlines and other travel providers, as well as online and offline travel sellers. Mundus, based in Hawaii, is a major global publisher of educational software, textbooks, and teaching tools. Strathfield College is a leading international college delivering vocational education programs, and one of the more innovative and versatile institutions of its type in Australia.
