IRVINE, Calif. - Oct. 14, 2013 - PRLog -- Orange County, Calif. – Oct. 7, 2013 – ARS, a residential heating and air conditioning company, announced today it has partnered with the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation (CUSDF) in the annual “ARS Think Green Contest.”  The “ARS Think Green Contest” encourages 7th through 12th graders to think about and raise awareness of energy conservation. Energy-saving ideas can be submitted in the form of a written essay, drawing or model, from October 15th through November 14th  for a chance to win $150.00

“We love the idea of our students participating in the “ARS Think Green Contest” because it is a way to expand our students’ critical thinking skills,” said Steph Ramsey, President of the Capistrano Unified School District Foundation. “We look forward to seeing the creative ideas students come up with to reduce the load on our energy grid.”

“Our hope is that we can spark an interest in our youth to think about the impact they can make on our environment and share those ideas with the community as a whole so we can start making changes right here in Orange County,” said Colin Martodam, Regional Manager, ARS Air Conditioning & Heating Orange County.

All CUSDF 7th through 12th graders are encouraged to enter the “ARS Think Green Contest.” The contest is open to all “green” ideas, including essays, models and drawings. It will be divided into two categories based on grade level. One high school student and one middle school student will each be rewarded with a $150 cash prize; second place winners will each receive a $100 cash prize. Additionally, ARS will match the total prize earnings with a $500 donation to the schools in the district that garners the most student participation.

All entries must include a thorough explanation of the idea, the potential impact of the idea on the economy and/or community, and how the idea can be implemented throughout their community. Projects must be submitted to arsthinkgreen@boltpr.com no later than November 14, 2013.
