         More than a condensed version, it takes on the stature of a new literary piece, because of the different perspective with Sherlock Holmes giving new plot machinations to the story. “After writing The Sultan of Monte Cristo (book II), I realized the original story needed to be re-introduced to a new generation and that it needed to be condensed as most readers would not have the time or patience to read 1243 pages,” said the author during a recent interview.  “I chose Sherlock Holmes to tell the story as a device to bring the story to life and doing so gave me the further idea to produce a prequel to his own adventures in book III, The Sovereign Order of Monte Cristo.”

         The Count of Monte Cristo tells the story of Edmond Dantes, a young sailor who his wrongfully accused of treason.  While in prison, a fellow inmate befriends him and tells him about a secret treasure that he wants him to have.  With his newfound wealth, Dantes vows to get revenge on the men who framed him. Holy Ghost Writer’s book tells this same story, but readers get to sit with Watson and hear the grand adventure from Sherlock Holmes.

         Telling, or retelling the story in half of the original pages, proved to be a challenge.  “It was extremely difficult to cut the content in half while telling the complete story in the voice of Holmes,” said the Holy Ghost Writer.  “I added ever so subtle content that connects Book I with books II and III that I doubt anyone but a true Dumas fanatic would be able to detect it.”

         Who is Holy Ghost Writer?
