The Nutcracker Ballet taking a new twist

ORLANDO, Fla. - Oct. 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Over the years, Central Florida Ballet has been producing a Nutcracker like no other that pleases dazzles the audience with wonderful dance, aerial acrobatics, a touch of Cirque and yes, pyrotechnics.


This unique combination in their approach to the presentation of this Christmas classic earned them several reputable titles like the “a top 20 event” by the Southeast Tourism Society, “one of five outstanding productions in the entire nation” by CNN Headline News, and simply the distinction of “the pyrotechnic Nutcracker” by USA Today.

The sets and costumes for this performance were handmade and designed by the world-renowned European stage designer Dorin Gal. The performance will feature internationally acclaimed guest dancers along with local talent and the Central Florida Ballet Company.

The “Nutcracker” ballet is a classic holiday tradition performed all over the world. The story is based on a fairytale in which the Nutcracker doll comes to life as an enchanted prince who saves the pretty young maiden Maria, from distress.  Prince “Nikita” then takes her through a magical journey to his kingdom “The Land of Sweets” where they are greeted by the Sugar Plum Fairy and her Cavalier. The Prince tells them about their daring battle with the army of mice and she rewards them with a celebration of dances from all around the world.
