Fashion Evolution: Consumer Power Event | Innovation & Transformation of Conscious Consumption

EILEEN FISHER’s Amy Hall Headlines Key note, Panel and Cocktail Event Exploring How Consumer Power is Driving Sustainable Changes in the Fashion Industry: NYC/11/7

NEW YORK - Oct. 8, 2013 - PRLog -- New York, NY – October 7, 2013  - Fans, fashionistas and environmental advocates should buy their tickets now for one of New York City’s most unique events when Amy Hall, Director of Social Consciousness at Eileen Fisher and a member of the Leadership Forum for Women’s clothing, headlines “Fashion Evolution: Consumer Power” on November 7th in New York City. Developed by Ampleen, a NYC sustainability consulting firm, Fashion Evolution’s unique concept will tackle topics that have people talking now, but all boils down to this:  how increased consumer consciousness has become a key driver behind fashion’s evolution towards more sustainable production and other socio-environmental changes.

Amy Hall’s keynote address will lead into an expert panel discussion with executives from global fashion design companies and EcoPlum and professors from the Fashion Institute of Technology among others. Anyone concerned with these issues will want to hear what these instrumental players in the fashion industry have to say:

·         Manuela Fassbender, Founding Partner and Creative Director, MBF Trend Consulting;

·         Naomi Gross, Professor and Assistant Chairperson, Fashion Institute of Technology;

·         Faizun Kamal, a social entrepreneur and Founder of SourceFK, a clothing collection that partners with Asian women artisans, connecting them to global markets and training, named as a Woman To Watch by the Tory Burch  Foundation;

·         Gia Machlin, Founder and CEO, EcoPlum, an online boutique specializing in eco- friendly fashion products and original content on green living;

·         Telicia Bunch, Director of Technical Design, a global fashion design company;

The evening’s speakers will focus on how consumers are driving industry innovations in the retail and fashion industries, and are consciously embracing Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).  Holding the brands they use every day up to high standards of global integrity, consumers have taken CSR out of the boardroom and into the living room. Fashion Evolution will look at how far Sustainability and CSR have come and where they can go in the future.

“The experts we have organized for this unique mini conference and cocktail hour are the best at what they do,” says Shoko Sekiguchi, CEO, Ampleen and the event’s organizer.  “We’re excited to see how everyone who attends this empowering event will respond to these inspiring designers and companies who are trying to evolve their brands in ways that are better for people and the planet. Consumers are demanding more from the fashion industry than just style and changing trends.”

Fashion Evolution will take over Scandinavia House in New York City, 58 Park Avenue, on November 7th in Volvo Hall (6-9pm) and feature not only the keynote address and panel discussion but also a networking reception serving wines and small bites.  FACE Stockholm will provide an environmentally friendly reusable and recyclable bag for each attendee.  For more information and registration go to:  https://fashionevolution.eventbrite.com/
